Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a manufacturing engineer to drive development and optimization of battery production processes at BlueOval Battery Park Michigan. You will lead cross-functional teams, mentor operators and engineers, and apply Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen to cut waste and improve yield and cost.

This role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering, 2+ years in manufacturing (ideally automotive/battery), and willingness to travel internationally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field required.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience in automotive or EV/battery plants preferred.
  • Ability to travel internationally and work across shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Drive development, validation and improvement of battery manufacturing processes.
  • Lead fault resolution and equipment digitalization initiatives.
  • Develop PFMEA, control plans and SOPs for battery manufacturing.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen to reduce waste and variation.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, quality, supply chain and EHS teams.
  • Mentor operators and junior engineers; support new product launches.
  • Analyze SPC, OEE, downtime and scrap to identify opportunities.
  • Ensure safety, environmental and regulatory compliance in battery manufacturing.
  • Provide training and stay current on emerging battery technologies.
