Job summary

Leidos Defense Sector in Colorado Springs seeks a Quality Engineer for 2nd shift to ensure machined components meet drawings, specifications, and AS9100 requirements. You’ll support documentation, non-conformance tracking, and root cause analysis in a fast-paced defense environment.

Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years or MS with 2 years, ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance, and experience reading blueprints/CAD are preferred. Relocation to CO Springs area is required or desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 2–4 years of experience.
• Experience with non-conforming material and root cause analysis.
• Ability to interpret contracts, drawings, and quality clauses; AS9102 familiarity.
• Experience documenting QMS processes and AS9100 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing for aerospace and defense manufacturing.
• Develop inspection procedures, review drawings, and coordinate nonconformance disposition.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
• Perform quality inspections of components and assemblies; document findings.
• Ensure adherence to AS9100 and customer requirements; participate in internal audits.
