Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a technical field with manufacturing quality experience.
  • IATF Internal Auditor certification is required.
  • Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 in automotive environments.
  • Experience with AIAG Core Tools including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
  • Willingness to complete updated Core Tools training within the first year.
  • Strong analytical and hands-on problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with Quality Policy, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Control Plans, DVP&R, PFMEA, standardized work, and PPAP documentation.
  • Support customers with product launches, quality reporting, corrective actions, and problem resolution.
  • Review process audits, finished product inspections, warranty data, and supplier PPAP files.
  • Collaborate with plant teams, Corporate Quality, customers, and suppliers to improve quality.
  • Communicate significant quality concerns and assist the Quality Manager as needed.
  • Maintain testing, reporting, and records for government and customer compliance.

Salary Range: Up to $90,000 annually, depending on experience

Job Summary

We are partnering with an automotive manufacturer in the Nashville area to hire a Quality Engineer. This position works with customers, suppliers, and plant operations to support product launches and ensure products and processes meet quality and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on automotive manufacturing experience and strong knowledge of AIAG Core Tools, IATF 16949, and ISO 9001.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a technical field with at least three years of manufacturing quality experience, or a high school diploma or equivalent with at least eight years of relevant experience
  • IATF Internal Auditor certification
  • Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 within an automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 manufacturing environment
  • Experience with AIAG Core Tools, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and Control Plans
  • Recent Core Tools training or willingness to complete updated training within the first year
  • Strong analytical and hands-on problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of product compliance requirements, including FMVSS 205, ECE R43, and CCC
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally to customer assembly plants
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Total Quality concepts, and Six Sigma
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Physical and Environment Requirements

This position works in manufacturing and office environments and requires occasional travel to customer assembly plants. Regular attendance and flexibility to work additional hours when needed, including some weekends and holidays, are required.
