Job summary

TI Automotive is a Tier 1 supplier delivering safety- and performance-critical components for the automotive industry. The role focuses on maintaining QMS compliance, leading root-cause analysis, and coordinating APQP/PPAP activities across new product launches and process improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, at least 3 years in quality engineering in manufacturing, and hands-on experience with IATF 16949 environments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain compliance with QMS and IATF 16949 requirements.
• Lead and facilitate problem-solving using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and root-cause analysis.
• Investigate internal quality issues, customer complaints, and supplier concerns; implement corrective actions.
• Develop, review, and maintain APQP documents (PFMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flows, Work Instructions).
• Coordinate PPAP submissions, approvals, and engineering changes.
• Analyze quality data to identify opportunities for process improvement and defect reduction.
• Support audits (customer, IATF, internal) and corrective action implementation.
• Monitor process controls, SPC data, product audits, and layered process audits.
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering during new product launches and process changes.
• Participate in containment activities and quality-related production support.
• Support supplier quality initiatives including corrective actions and qualification activities.
• Ensure inspection and testing methods meet customer and internal requirements.
• Assist in calibration programs and MSA studies.
• Promote a culture of quality, customer focus, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities Of Position

• Support and maintain compliance with the site's Quality Management System (QMS) and applicable IATF 16949 requirements.
• Lead and facilitate problem‑solving activities using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and other root cause analysis methodologies.

• Support customer audits, IATF audits, and internal audits and assist with corrective action implementation.
• Monitor process controls, SPC data, product audits, and layered process audits to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams during new product launches and process changes.
• Participate in containment activities and quality-related production support as needed.
• Support supplier quality initiatives including corrective actions, performance monitoring, and qualification activities.
• Ensure inspection and testing methods are effective and comply with customer and internal requirements.
• Assist in calibration program activities and measurement system analysis (MSA) studies.
• Promote a culture of quality, customer focus, continuous improvement, and accountability throughout the facility.
• Perform other job-related duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned to support business objectives, customer requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skill Requirements

• Strong understanding of automotive quality systems and customer-specific requirements.
• Knowledge of Core Quality Tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and Control Plans.

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and customer requirements.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related technical field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience working within an IATF 16949-certified environment preferred.
• Experience with injection molding processes is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and quality methodologies.
• Experience with customer interaction, audits, and corrective action management.

Licensing Or Special Certification Requirements

Preferred certifications include:

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
• ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
• IATF 16949 Internal Auditor Training
• Core Tools Training (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA)

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing and walking throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to perform visual inspections and utilize measurement equipment.
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.

Working Conditions

• Works in both office and manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to noise, heat, dust, moving equipment, and manufacturing processes.
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on the production floor.
• May occasionally work outside normal business hours to support customer needs, audits, launches, or quality-related issues.
• Occasional travel may be required for customer visits, supplier visits, training, or audits.
