Job summary

The Shelly Company, a CRH company, seeks an entry-level Quality Control Technician in Circleville, Ohio to conduct tests on aggregates and asphalt mix, monitor specifications, and assist in mix adjustments.

This role involves shift work with possible night hours and overtime, and training toward ODOT certifications. Candidates should be able to use Outlook, Word and Excel for data entry and reporting.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform standardized laboratory tests following ASTM/AASHTO standards.
• Willingness to obtain Level 2 and/or 3 ODOT testing certifications.
• Proficiency with basic data entry and reporting software.

Responsibilities

• Test materials to verify composition, weight, temperature, and gradation.
• Monitor and ensure asphalt mix quality per specifications.
• Assist in adjusting mix composition and process for compliance.
• Record results and communicate with team on test outcomes.
