Job summary

The Shelly Company, a CRH company, seeks skilled QC technicians to support asphalt and aggregate testing at Ohio sites. You will perform standardized lab tests, monitor mix quality, and collaborate with field crews to ensure strict adherence to project specifications.

Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply; competitive hourly pay plus growth opportunities through company-sponsored trainings and certifications are offered. ODOT certifications may be pursued to advance within the team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; able to perform ASTM/AASHTO tests.
• Knowledge of asphalt plant procedures and safety regulations.
• Ability to obtain Level 2/3 ODOT testing certifications.
• Strong reading comprehension of English.
• Basic math and shop math skills.

Responsibilities

• Test materials to ensure specifications; identify mix requirements.
• Monitor temperature, thickness, density, and pavement quality.
• Input test results into laboratory/computer systems; communicate findings.
• Coordinate with paving personnel to adjust processes to specs.
• Report results ethically per company policies.
