Job summary

The Shelly Company, a CRH Company, seeks a Quality Control Technician to test aggregate and asphalt mix, ensuring specifications are met and assisting in mix adjustments during installation. Expect varied shifts, possible nights, and overtime with a safety‑driven environment.

You will document results, communicate with crews, use a density meter, and pursue Level 2/3 ODOT certifications while maintaining basic computer skills in Outlook, Word and Excel.

Qualifications

• Ability to read English language sufficiently to read specifications, reports, manuals and regulations.
• Ability to perform intermediate mathematical skills, including basic algebra, geometry, and shop math.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.

Responsibilities

• Test materials for weight, gravity, temperature, thickness, and gradation.
• Monitor quality of hot mix asphalt on projects.
• Input test results into laboratory/computer systems.
• Communicate with technicians and paving personnel on mix specifications.
