Summary

The Quality Control Technician troubleshoots and verifies that new equipment performs properly, safely, and meets all contractual specifications. They accurately document all ISO paperwork used in furnace builds per prints and schematics. Ensures equipment is working effectively prior to shipping to customers or Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely inspect large two-door control cabinets while power is on, utilizing electrical prints.
  • Read and respond promptly to supplier and intercompany emails.
  • Compile data, create job folders, and use collected data to process orders accurately.
  • Maintain all required ISO forms related to Quality Control.
  • Ensure proper cross-referencing of sales orders and spec sheets during order processing.
  • Inspect and program new parts, verify quantities based on bill of materials, and create packing slips.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production control, project management, and production to resolve issues.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Travel up to 10% to customer sites for troubleshooting.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail, with accurate record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and utilize electrical prints for equipment repair.
  • Ability to read mechanical blueprints.
  • Proficiency with a voltmeter.
  • Ability to program VFDs and connect to PLCs using a laptop.
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment in breakdown environments.
  • Strong math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work safely and confidently with 480/120-volt AC & 24-volt DC.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Advanced education or technical training beyond high school is preferred.
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting electrical systems required.
  • Experience in industrial maintenance is strongly desired.
