Job description

Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Location: Northbrook, IL / On-Site

Shift: 1st Shift

Position Overview:

The Quality Control Technician reports to the Production Manager/Supervisor and is responsible for conducting testing analysis to ensure product specifications are met prior to release. The role involves performing various duties related to sample analysis, data entry, equipment operation, and customer support. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Perform sample analysis, collection, preparation, and assembly.
  2. Enter test results into records accurately and maintain documentation.
  3. Respond to quality inquiries from customers and address quality issues raised by supervisors and operators.
  4. Operate laboratory equipment, both manual and automatic.
  5. Process incoming samples and assist with outgoing sample processing.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designated personnel.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals; capable of writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills for speaking before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and quality control software.
  • Strong organizational skills and versatility to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Physical Environment:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, climb stairs, and lift boxes up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Capability to stretch, reach, stoop, and bend as required.
  • Work environment includes normal chemical conditions with typical noise, dust, smell, and temperature levels.
