Job description

Position Title: Quality Control Technician

Wage: $23.00/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm

QPS Employment Group is seeking a Quality Control Technician for a customer in Elk Grove Village, IL. As a QCI, you'll perform hands-on inspections using advanced measuring tools to verify that every part we process meets industry specifications and customer expectations. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and commitment to accuracy will impact safety, performance, and customer trust. This role is ideal for a detail-driven professional with a background in dimensional inspection, especially in aerospace, defense, or similar high-reliability industries. Quality Control Technician Responsibilities:
  1. Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections against accept/reject criteria on customer parts with critical tolerances.
  2. Utilize mathematical skills and tolerance analysis to assess dimensional changes and substrate removal/buildup.
  3. Understand, assess, and perform tests using instruments such as micrometers, eddy current testers, bore gages, gloss meters, etc.
  4. Review contracts and flow-down requirements, ensuring compliance with purchase orders, drawings, specifications, and customer instructions.
  5. Maintain accurate data records, including job logs, inspection logs, and customer-specific documentation.
  6. Operate precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, bore and thread gages, microscopes, etc.
  7. Ensure adherence to internal documentation, work orders, inspection reports, and procedures.
  8. Support QCI and QA personnel, contribute to projects, and suggest quality improvements.
  9. Participate in ongoing training, process improvements, testing, and performance evaluations.
Requirements for Quality Control Technician:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  2. At least four years of dimensional inspection experience in aerospace, defense, avionics, medical, or similar industries.
  3. Experience evaluating and interpreting engineering drawings.
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  5. Understanding of QA sampling plans and test methods is strongly preferred.
  6. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
