Job summary

Red River Brick in Ogden, TX is seeking a Quality Control Technician to test raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure quality and ASTM compliance. You will follow General Shale safety standards and maintain comprehensive quality records.

Responsibilities include preparing samples for testing, shipping to destinations, and supporting production quality. A high school diploma is required, and QC certification is a plus; experience in laboratory testing is beneficial.

Job description

Red River Brick is seeking a Quality Control Technician for our manufacturing facility in Ogden, TX. Red River Brick is a subsidiary of General Shale, North America’s largest manufacturer of clay brick and other masonry materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Follow General Shale safety standards and procedures.

Test raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with General Shale quality requirements and applicable ASTM standards.

Perform quality control testing throughout all stages of production, including raw materials, manufacturing, and packaging.

Monitor product quality, identify potential issues, and communicate results or concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Maintain accurate quality control records and documentation.

Prepare and ship product samples to General Shale sales locations, customers, and third-party testing facilities.

Assist with other quality control duties as needed to support production and product quality.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Quality control certification preferred, but not required.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience in quality control, manufacturing, or materials testing preferred.

Experience with laboratory testing procedures and quality standards is a plus.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Willingness to learn and operate a forklift as needed.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.

Ability to identify quality issues and communicate findings effectively.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to learn new testing procedures and equipment.
