Job summary

General Shale is hiring an Electrical Technician for our Elgin, TX manufacturing facility. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plant-wide electrical systems and PLC-controlled equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, plus post-secondary technical training or equivalent experience; PLC training is preferred. Five years of electrical maintenance experience is preferred, with strong teamwork and safety awareness.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical prints and schematics.
• Mechanical aptitude and safety-consciousness required.

Responsibilities

• Follow General Shale safety standards and procedures.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant-wide electrical systems and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled equipment.
• Maintain electrical prints and backup copies of PLC programs.
• Manage electrical parts inventory and maintain supplies.
• Perform mechanical repairs, fabrication, and electrical control system design as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Complete additional duties to support plant operations.

PAY

$27.00 - $33.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Red River Brick is seeking an Electrical Technician for our manufacturing facility in Elgin, TX. Red River Brick is a subsidiary of General Shale, North America’s largest manufacturer of clay brick and other masonry materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Follow General Shale safety standards and procedures.

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant-wide electrical systems and automated manufacturing equipment.

Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled equipment.

Maintain electrical prints and secure backup copies of PLC programs.

Manage electrical parts inventory and maintain adequate supplies.

Perform mechanical repairs, fabrication, and electrical control system design as needed.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Complete additional duties as assigned to support plant operations.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED required.

Post-secondary technical training or equivalent experience preferred.

Electrical and PLC training preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Five (5) years of electrical maintenance experience preferred.

Working knowledge of PLCs and automated manufacturing equipment strongly preferred.

SKILLS REQUIRED

Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to read and interpret electrical prints and schematics.

Mechanical aptitude.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to workplace safety.
