The Shelly Company, a CRH company, is seeking a Quality Control Technician to test aggregates and asphalt mix, monitor pavement quality, and assist in mix adjustments to meet specifications. The role may require night shifts and overtime with some travel to job sites.

Applicants should have a High School diploma and knowledge of ASTM/AASHTO testing standards, plus basic computer skills. Strong safety ethics and teamwork are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; ability to perform standardized laboratory tests per ASTM/AASHTO standards.
• Knowledge of basic procedures for asphalt mix testing and safety compliance.
• Ability to read specifications, reports and regulations; operate a two-way radio; learn computer software basics.

Responsibilities

• Test materials safely and efficiently according to mix specifications.
• Monitor temperature, thickness, density, and pavement quality during installation.
• Input test results into computers; communicate results to paving personnel.
• Assist in adjusting mix composition and procedures to meet specs.
• Maintain safety practices and adhere to company policies.
