Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope is seeking a Quality Control & Test Technician to test and inspect materials and finished products to ensure they meet company standards and are market-ready. The role supports quality inspections, product testing, certification activities, and continuous improvement efforts.

You will work across production stages, prepare data, and communicate results to supervisors while pursuing quality improvements and compliance with applicable laws and standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of inspection and/or production experience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret information.
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures.
  • Ability to read and use precision measuring tools (calipers, dial indicators).
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Return products for re-work and document re-work activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and company standards.

  • Perform air infiltration and water penetration tests.
  • Analyze test results and draft reports with deviations from standards.
  • Assist in product certification activities and buck building.
  • Communicate findings with line supervisors and identify quality improvements.

What You'll Get to Do

The Quality Control & Test Technician is focused on testing and inspecting materials and finished products to ensure they conform to company standards and are market ready.

This position supports quality inspections, product testing, product certification activities, and continuous improvement efforts.

Job Responsibilities
  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual inspections and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Approve finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required inspections and tests.
  • Return products for re-work when needed and complete documentation required to support re-work activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, as well as company standards and specifications.
  • Perform inspections across all stages of production.
  • Prepare and maintain test data for review.
  • Select units for testing.
  • Unwrap and re-wrap units.
  • Prepare test specimens.
  • Perform air infiltration and water penetration tests.
  • Analyze and determine causes for test failure.
  • Evaluate data and draft reports, noting relevant deviations from existing standards.
  • Assist in product certification activities and buck building.
  • Communicate with Line Supervisors regarding quality and testing results.
  • Identify areas for quality control improvement
  • Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency.
  • Work toward continuously improving workplace organization, safety, quality, and productivity, and support an environment that empowers employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What We Are Looking For
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
