Job summary

Whirlwind Steel is seeking a Quality Manager to lead quality programs across our fabrication facilities. You will recruit, mentor, and manage QC staff, perform internal audits, and oversee NDT by UT, welding inspections, and documentation to support manufacturing while sustaining production flow.

You will drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with QSM and accreditation requirements, and coordinate third‑party audits and management reviews. Strong writing and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold AWS certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
• Must have ASNT Level II UT Technician credentials.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles.
• Experience leading a quality department and driving QMS improvements.
• Strong interpersonal skills to motivate staff and direct teams.
• Excellent technical writing and documentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Quality Action Plans.
• Lead internal quality audits and host third‑party audits.
• Direct, implement, and manage Quality processes across facilities.
• Oversee NDT by UT examination and weld inspection.
• Maintain the Quality Systems Manual and QSM conformance.
• Capable of sustaining continuous improvement initiatives.
