Whirlwind Steel seeks a Quality Manager to lead quality operations at our fabrication plants. You will direct QA staff, implement quality processes, schedule audits, and maintain compliance with QSM and applicable codes. Experience with nondestructive testing and weld inspection is preferred.

As the Quality Department head at each facility the Quality manager will be tasked with recruiting, hiring, and mentoring the Quality Control staff. The daily Quality Control team is tasked with visual weld inspection, Nondestructive Testing by UT Examination, and documentation of inspections in support of manufacturing while not impeding the production staff; a partner that adds value to the Whirlwind product. The management of this group is very important to the development and efficiency of the Quality Systems program.
The Quality Manager at each fabrication plant will direct, implement, and manage Quality processes throughout the organization. The Quality Manager assures that all aspects of the Quality Accreditation Programs are current and implemented across all functions of manufacturing and Quality Control. This position also contributes to the maintenance of the QSM while assuring that it meets or exceeds code requirements.
The Quality Manager is expected to lead and support Continuous Improvement initiatives in all manufacturing activities. There should be a continuous investment in training for the most efficient, and highest quality practices while maintaining a safe work environment.
The Quality Manager is tasked with performing internal quality audits as well as monitoring production processes for efficiency. The scheduling, resolution and documentation of periodic equipment and tool calibration is the responsibility of the Quality Manager. This position is uniquely qualified to host 3rd party quality audits and perform annual Management Reviews of audit results.
