Job summary

Whirlwind Steel Buildings and Components is seeking a Quality Manager to head the quality department at each fabrication facility. You will recruit, hire, and mentor the Quality Control staff, oversee visual weld inspections, UT nondestructive testing, and documentation to support manufacturing without slowing production.

You will implement and manage Quality processes, maintain the Quality Systems Manual, lead continuous improvement, and coordinate internal audits and third-party reviews,

Qualifications

• AWS CWI certification required.
• Ability to manage ASNT Level II UT technician.
• Possess Canadian Welding Supervisor Certification capability.
• Strong knowledge of Statistical Process Control.
• Excellent interpersonal and writing skills.
• Experience leading quality control teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Quality Action Plans
• Assist with nonconforming part disposition and corrective actions
• Maintain and update the Quality Systems Manual
• Verify conformance with the Quality Systems Manual (QSM)
• Maintain a well-qualified staff of Quality Inspectors
• Develop procedures to allow adequate inspection with minimal production delay
• Serve as subject matter expert for welding processes used
