Position Summary

The Quality Control (QC) Lab Technician plays a vital role in ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance across sterile compounding operations. This hands-on position involves conducting analytical testing, sample inspections, documentation review, and laboratory support in a cGMP-regulated environment. The ideal candidate will bring meticulous attention to detail, a solid understanding of lab protocols, and an eagerness to work in a quality-focused lab setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct visual and physical inspections of in-process and finished products.
  • Perform analytical testing such as pH, osmolality, particulate matter, and basic chemical assays per USP methods.
  • Accurately document test results, deviations, and quality observations according to SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support sample receipt, chain of custody tracking, labeling, and retention procedures.
  • Maintain lab cleanliness and perform routine equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Assist in investigations of out-of-specification (OOS) or out-of-trend (OOT) results.
  • Collaborate closely with QA, Production, and Microbiology teams to uphold continuous quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a QC, pharmaceutical, or sterile compounding lab preferred.
  • Familiarity with USP <788>, <795>, <797>, <800>, and related compounding/testing standards.
  • Knowledge of cGMP, GLP, and FDA regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work in cleanroom and lab environments with strict contamination control practices.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
