Job Overview

Minimum Requirements

• Experience as a Quality Control Technician (not entry-level)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• One to two years of college or equivalent training (trade school, specialized training)
• 3-5+ years of industry-related experience, especially in roads, highways, and bridges
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to perform physical activities including standing, bending, lifting 50-90 pounds personally, and up to 150 pounds with assistance
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and on uneven surfaces
• Effective communication skills for interacting with supervisors, employees, and clients

Responsibilities

• Control quality of hot mix asphalt production through inspection and testing
• Sample and visually inspect construction materials, conduct laboratory tests
• Review mix designs against project specifications
• Perform jobsite inspections and troubleshooting
• Prepare QC reports and recommend corrective actions
• Maintain records of test data and product quality
• Serve as a technical resource and stay informed of new specifications and standards
