Job summary

Santander in Miami is seeking an Associate, Quality Control to join the CIB First Line of Defense. You will develop, manage and execute Credit QC programs to ensure loans are underwritten to internal standards and regulatory expectations.

The role partners with CIB Credit Professionals and Risk Managers; requires 5+ years of experience in credit management and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military service, or education.
• 5+ years experience in Credit Management, Internal Controls, Auditing, Risk Management or other relevant line of business.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to clearly document findings and present conclusions to senior management.
• Advanced understanding of the regulatory environment and how the risks of the products and services the bank offers are viewed by the Second Line of Defense and regulators.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; proficiency with AI tools allowed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the loan portfolio is underwritten in accordance with internal standards and regulatory expectations.
• Collaborate with CIB Credit Professionals, Credit Risk Managers and Issues Management on remediation.
• Provide independent challenge to business and identify credit and control weaknesses for remediation.
