Job summary

Amcor Limited in Dalton, GA seeks a Quality Manager to lead plant quality improvement initiatives and vendor quality programs, reducing customer concerns through root-cause analysis and close collaboration with customers and technical sales to align on expectations and future projects.

The role sits on the plant leadership team and drives continuous improvement, skill development for quality staff, and manages compliance and certification programs with outside agencies to meet ISO and industry

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry, Engineering, Quality or Management or equivalent training.
• 7+ years supervising/managing employees in a manufacturing plant.
• 7+ years QA/QC in plastics or packaging.
• Extensive knowledge of auditing, SOPs, GMPs, FDA, and quality systems.
• Strong leadership with multiple projects.
• Extensive experience with root cause corrective action.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain QA and Compliance policies, systems and SOPs.
• Provide plant leadership to meet and improve product quality standards and engage all employees to achieve local objectives.
• Assess department resources and needs to meet guidelines and planning goals.
• Maintain customer quality satisfaction through control of raw materials, in-process materials, production process, environmental conditions and finished products.
• Facilitate resolution of complex quality issues, including root cause and corrective action.
• Apply QA systems, procedures, and practices to document all activities and maintain manufacturing recordkeeping.
• Ensure timely testing is completed and department is trained in latest procedures per customer specs and ISO standards.
• Manage department staffing, expense budget, and capital projects.
• Assure compliance with QA/QC policies and health/safety laws.
