Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a resilient Quality Manager to build a Quality Center of Excellence and lead a team of quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians. The role focuses on defining the operating model, governance, and scalable playbooks to ensure superior quality and compliance across programs.

You will partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Programs to shift from reactive firefighting to proactive prevention, owning the QMS, audits, CAPA, and competency programs to maintain AS9100

Qualifications

• AS9100/ISO 9001 knowledge and experience in QMS design and maintenance.
• 8+ years of quality experience in aerospace/regulated manufacturing with team leadership.
• Experience leading audits, CAPA, and root cause analysis (8D/5-Why/fishbone).

Responsibilities

• Define the vision, operating model, and governance for the Quality COE and its engagement with internal customers.
• Develop and execute a multi-year quality strategy and maturity roadmap.
• Standardize processes, templates, and playbooks across the organization.
• Lead, coach, and develop quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians; manage hiring and performance.
• Own the QMS and ensure AS9100 certification, audits, and compliance.
• Lead internal and external audits and serve as point of contact for regulators.
• Drive risk-based thinking, FMEA, and preventive actions.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, 8D) and report KPI performance.
