Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a seasoned Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team ensuring reliability of software used in space missions. You will craft QA plans, lead audits, and drive continuous improvement aligned with AS 9100, CMMI, and S&MA practices.

The role requires 5-7+ years in QA for aerospace software, strong knowledge of QMS, and experience with JIRA/Confluence. Houston-based, on-site with demanding milestones and export control considerations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
5-7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance for human spaceflight.
Experience in performing AS 9100 audits and assessments is desired but not required.
Experience maintaining a CMMI level rating in software development and knowledge of QMS in aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

Develop software quality assurance plans, processes, and procedures for design, qualification, test, and acceptance to ensure compliance with requirements.
Maintain and ensure our Quality Management System (QMS) for AS 9100 and CMMI compliance.
Support non-conforming product processes and action plans; conduct audits and submit CARs.
Perform product and process assessments/audits to support continuous improvements in line with company values.
Develop S&MA reports and present status to leadership; improve quality processes and procedures.
