Job summary

KBR is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support the Axiom Space program within the Safety and Mission Assurance team. This role leads quality systems development, root-cause analysis, audits, and supplier quality efforts to ensure aerospace products meet requirements.

Responsibilities include CAPA tracking, nonconformance resolution, and collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement to drive continuous improvement. Strong AS9100 knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of quality engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or a regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100, audit processes, and corrective action systems.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality procedures, inspection standards, and quality system documentation.
• Lead root-cause investigations using methods such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, or 8D.
• Support CAPA activities and track closure of nonconformances.
• Conduct internal audits and support external/customer/regulatory audits.
• Analyze quality data and trends to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Work with engineering and suppliers to address issues and improve supplier performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and operations teams to resolve quality problems.
• Support compliance with AS9100, FAA, and customer quality requirements.
• Assist with product and process qualification, inspection planning, and documentation review.
