Job summary

Thomas Foods International, USA is seeking a FSQA Supervisor to lead the Food Safety and Quality Team in a fast-paced meat production environment. Reporting to the FSQA Manager, you will coach staff, drive HACCP program execution, and ensure documentation and inspections meet regulatory standards.

You will monitor KPI data, coordinate with USDA inspectors, and participate in MRB decisions, with a focus on continuous improvement and safe, quality products for customers.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years in a fast paced food manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Excel for formulas, graphs and reporting.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Familiar with HACCP and quality systems.
  • Comfort working with regulatory bodies (USDA/FDA).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coach the FSQA team including team leaders and technicians.
  • Ensure training and skills alignment for responsibilities.
  • Set performance expectations and provide feedback and training.
  • Oversee HACCP program and prerequisite programs implementation.
  • Improve document management to industry best practices.
  • Monitor FSQA warehouse inspections and KPI data weekly.
  • Assist in training new FSQA staff and audits.
  • Coordinate with USDA onsite officials as required.
  • Lead MRB daily inspections and product disposition communication.
  • Attend to consumer complaints inspections as needed.

About the Job

Reporting directly to the FSQA Manager, the FSQA Supervisor role is a high‑visibility, high‑impact leadership role within the Quality Assurance Department at TFI USA.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coach the TFI USA Food Safety and Quality Team, including Team Leaders, FSQA Technicians, and other support staff.
  • Ensure team members have the training and skills necessary to execute their responsibilities.
  • Set performance expectations for each position, evaluate performance against expectations, and provide ongoing feedback and training to each employee.
  • Oversee the effective execution of the HACCP Program, Pre-requisite Programs (such as Environmental Monitoring, Pest Control, Maintenance for Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, Allergen Control, Supplier Management, and Recall and Traceability)
  • Continuously improve the document management program to align with industry best practices.
  • Monitor / Audit Warehouse Documentation performed by the FSQA Technicians.
  • Assist in training new hires to the FSQA Department.
  • Audit Outbound, Inbound, Cross Dock and Product Return Inspections performed by the FSQA Technicians.
  • Provide the Weekly Warehouse Report on all FSQA warehouse inspections for Monday thru Sunday to the Inventory Team each Monday morning.
  • Keep updated daily the FSQA KPI spreadsheet, to include Outbound and Inbound data from the previous day.
  • Ensure all products meeting documentation requirements are released from system hold in a timely manner.
  • Assist in Consumer Complaint inspections as needed.
  • Lead the Material Review Board (MRB) Team in daily inspections of damaged or off conditioned products, to include providing disposition and communicating to appropriate parties.
  • Communicate with the USDA onsite officials as necessary/required. Report all immediate concerns to the FSQA Manager.
  • Additional tasks assigned by management.

Requirements/Education/Experience/Skills

  • 2-5 years of experience in a fast paced, food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using Excel and ability to complete formulas, graphs, charts and reporting functions using data.
  • HACCP Certified preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQF, BRC or ISO22000 preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQF, Halal and Organic certification programs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; able to develop and maintain strong working relationships with warehouse and office staff and external FDA/USDA Inspectors.
  • Proficient in computer software, such as inventory / traceability software, manufacturing software and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work with government regulatory bodies.
  • Strong teaching, coaching, mentoring skills, willingness to train others.
  • Team player with high integrity, values and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to effectively handle the high stress, time and work demands that come with responsibility as QA Supervisor.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedure set forth by Thomas Foods International, USA.

Salary/Compensation Range: $60,000-$80,000 annually

This range represents the expected base salary rate for this position. Actual compensation will depend on experience, skills, and other factors. This role is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
