IES Communications seeks a Quality Assurance Specialist to support mission critical construction by developing and delivering trade-specific training for low-voltage systems. You will create comprehensive curricula and learning paths, conduct field inspections, and provide on-site support to project teams to drive continuous improvement.

You will lead site startup processes, ensure adherence to installation standards, and reinforce best practices across projects.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with site safety practices and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, deliver, and reinforce trade-related instruction for installation, handling, and testing.
  • Lead site-specific Quality Plans and Site Startup processes.
  • Support First-of-Kind installations, inspections, and customer approvals.
  • Manage quality checklists and input data into project platforms.
  • Document daily field walks and report quality issues and risks.
  • Provide weekly project health reporting and escalate risks to leadership.
  • Participate in customer and IES leadership walkthroughs.
  • Maintain organization quality standards and improve training processes.
  • Keep current on installed products and training materials.
  • Collaborate with training team on new programs and revisions.
  • Ensure a safe and productive learning environment for staff and students.

Job description

The Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) supports mission critical construction by developing, delivering, and maintaining trade‑specific training programs focused on low‑voltage systems. This role is responsible for creating comprehensive curriculum and skills‑based learning paths for both new and existing IES team members to elevate craftsmanship, and technical proficiency. The QAS conducts field quality inspections and audits to ensure adherence to project specifications, installation standards, and customer expectations. In addition, this role provides on‑site technical support to project teams, reinforces best practices, identifies process gaps, and partners with operations leadership to drive continuous improvement across all low‑voltage scopes.

General Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop, deliver, and reinforce trade‑related instruction focused on proper installation, material handling, and testing procedures through a combination of classroom training and hands‑on field coaching
  • Lead the development of site‑specific Quality Plans and Site Startup processes tailored to the unique characteristics of each project.
  • Support the development of First‑of‑Kind (FOK) installations, execute inspections, and obtain customer approval on the final iteration
  • Manage the scheduling, tracking, inspection, and completion of customer and IES quality checklists, including input into the IES and customer specific platforms
  • Conduct, document, and report daily field walks focused on early identification of quality issues and verification of conformance with approved First‑of‑Kind (FOK) standards
  • Utilize weekly reporting to assess and communicate project health against IES and customer quality standards, escalating identified risks to operations and program leadership
  • Participate in or lead project walkthroughs with customers and IES leadership
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Implement training processes and best practices that add value and improve business performance
  • Maintain personal knowledge, training and proficiency on installed products and course materials
  • Work with training team to design and implement new training programs and revise old programs
  • Ensure a safe and pleasant learning environment for staff/students
