The Opportunity

As Quality Manager, you’ll lead the quality agenda at a flagship production site. Reporting to the Plant Manager and supported by the global QFS Director, you will be responsible for all aspects of product quality, food safety compliance, and team leadership at this high-performing facility. This role offers the chance to elevate systems, shape culture, and influence real change on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Own and enforce the Food Safety Plan and ensure full FSMA compliance.
  2. Lead site-wide adherence to HACCP, GMP, GFSI (BRCGS preferred), and other regulatory or third-party certifications.
  3. Champion a strong food safety and quality culture across teams and departments.
  4. Investigate and respond to customer complaints; lead root cause analyses and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  5. Deliver site-level training to QFS teams and frontline operators—evaluate impact and drive continuous improvement.
  6. Represent the facility during internal and external audits, including GMP, Food Safety, Food Defense, Organic, Kosher, Halal, and Gluten-Free.
  7. Manage hold and disposition processes using risk-based assessments; ensure traceability and product release protocols are followed.
  8. Lead the HACCP and Food Safety teams and oversee changes to process, equipment, or raw materials.
  9. Supervise programs for environmental monitoring, allergen control, finished product testing, and pest control oversight.
  10. Track and report on quality metrics such as Right First Time and customer complaint trends.
  11. Maintain laboratory instrumentation and calibration schedules.

What You Bring

  1. Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  2. 4+ years’ experience in food manufacturing, including supervisory responsibilities.
  3. PCQI and HACCP certification required.
  4. Hands-on experience with GFSI standards; BRCGS experience is a plus.
  5. Strong knowledge of microbiological and analytical testing (moisture, color, physicals, etc.).
  6. Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) and the Microsoft Office suite.
  7. Proven leadership ability with a passion for team development and coaching.
  8. Fluent written and verbal communication skills. Spanish language skills are a strong asset.
  9. Ability to manage competing priorities and drive execution in a fast-paced environment.
  10. Commitment to safety, sanitation, and continuous improvement.
