Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain business plans to offer QA and QC services.
- Create, update, and enforce SOPs and policies for all QA and QC procedures.
- Design and implement internal audit processes to ensure quality in services and product deliveries.
- Lead and manage the QA team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance.
- Collaborate with development and project management teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of QA processes and methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards for QA testing and software development.
- Provide guides and protocols, and ensure compliance with best practices.
- Facilitate continuous improvement and education initiatives within the QA department.
- Enhances teamwork and morale through coordinated activities.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks effectively.
- Conduct interviews to assess candidates' skills and suitability for QA roles, team integration, and the company’s cultural fit.
- Collaborate with the Strategy, Business Development, and Operations Directors to formulate business strategies and procedures to achieve company objectives and improve internal quality.
- Research and adopt new testing tools, procedures, policies, techniques, and protocols to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Review and approve QA personnel’s worked hours and all documentation the QA team generates before delivery.
- Define and manage QA team budget aligned with business goals and constraints.
Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of QA and QC principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of web and mobile app development processes.
- Strong knowledge of IT areas, such as networking, servers, and infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing and hosting services such as Azure and AWS.
- Strong familiarity with various testing tools and technologies such as Azure DevOps, Selenium, QTP, Jmeter, TestLink, Quality Center (ALM), Postman, Appium, Jenkins, or others.
- Strong familiarity with database engines such as Microsoft SQL.
- Strong familiarity with cybersecurity principles applied to applications, hosting environments, and software development.
- Strong knowledge of testing techniques such as black, white, and gray box testing.
- Expertise in creating concise, structured documents with precise formatting and adherence to standards.
- Understanding industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as WCAG, Section 508, OWASP, HIPAA, PCI, FedRamp, CMMI/CMMC, SOC2, etc.
- Knowledge of business planning, strategy development, and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of using Microsoft Word for documentation and template generation.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and tools like Power BI for reporting and data analysis.
- Strong knowledge of PowerPoint for creating professional presentations and visual storytelling.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, including SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams, for seamless collaboration, document management, and team communication in modern work environments.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in QA/QC management within the software development industry.
- Proven track record of successfully leading QA teams and managing QA processes.
- Experience in developing and maintaining business plans for QA/QC services.
- Extensive experience standardizing procedures, creating policies, and promoting best practices for quality assurance and efficiency.
- Hands-on experience in developing protocols and conducting internal audits to assess the overall quality.
- Experience with web and mobile app testing.
- Extensive experience working in an audited and regulated environment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and legal requirements, while maintaining the highest quality assurance protocols and practices.
- Experience working with software developers, engineers, salespersons, project managers, and management.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Advanced certifications in QA/QC, like Certified ISTQB Test Manager Advanced Level Exam (CTAL-TM), or eight years of equivalent experience as a QA Manager.
