The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager, reporting to the Director Project Management Office (PMO), will lead a team of Quality Assurance Analysts and Engineers, oversee all QA Activities and implement QA standards and methodologies. The QA Manager will ensure that new and existing systems and features and applications meet quality and performance expectations, and will also develop standards and best practices for automated testing, performance testing and regression testing, including by improving the efficiency of testing processes. The QA Manager will also maintain and report on QA metrics for an assigned business vertical.
Location: Candidates must be located in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area and will report to the office on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of QA specialists working in a multi-disciplinary environment (Waterfall, Agile), leveraging disparate technologies within disparate environments (managed hosted, cloud, vendor services).
- Oversee all QA activities and processes to ensure that quality expectations have been met and conform to project and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other QA Managers to create, document and implement corporate QA standards, methodologies and processes to establish the Quality Assurance Center of Excellence.
- Maintain QA metrics, report QA metrics to senior management and use QA metrics to continuously improve product quality, testing efficiency and QA processes.
- Design test strategies, test plans, and set test objectives.
- Review test plans and test results for accuracy and completeness and provide any related recommendations.
- Create training and development plans to grow the team in both technical and soft skills.
- Develop best practices for automated testing, performance testing and regression testing, and write test scripts.
- Make implementation recommendations based on test results.
- Solve problems pertaining to testing and test staging.
- Monitor and track product defects, analyze defect reports and make recommendations to reduce product defects.
- Create and execute test plans on assigned projects.
- Coach and mentor QA staff and conduct performance reviews.
- Resource management and workload distribution.
- Supports and maintains vendor relationships on QA owned product/services.
- Manage a team of QA staff members both onshore and offshore and flexing your schedule to collaborate with all direct reports across multiple time zones.
- Support and maintain budgets.
Skills / Abilities:
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience as a QA Manager.
- Bachelors degree in Business, Management, or related field. Experience accepted in lieu of degree.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently while preserving accuracy and attention to detail.
- Energetic self-starter, with the ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of Agile and experience working in an Agile environment preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with Soap and Rest API preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with Postman, Playwright, Selenium, Azure DevOps, MS Co-Pilot preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with Page Object Model Automation framework.
- Experience with testing UI (React and ASP.NET), as well as Web, Cloud-based services and applications is preferred.
- Experience with both formal SDLC environment, as well as an Agile environment.
- Application/technology in several areas including Web Technology, Python, SQL, batch processing, ServiceNow.
- Experience with Agent AI module learning a plus.
