Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Detroit is seeking an Assembly Quality Engineer to support transmission assembly operations. You will develop and maintain quality systems, apply SPC, and lead CAPA with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes data-driven problem solving, root-cause analysis, and collaboration with Manufacturing and Supplier Engineering to enable new product launches and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience applying engineering principles and quality management in manufacturing.
• Proficiency with SPC and root-cause analysis to improve processes.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, evaluate, and maintain quality systems for transmission assembly operations.
• Apply statistical methods to analyze processes, identify variation and improve quality.
• Design and validate inspection and validation processes to meet specs.
• Lead root-cause investigations using FMEA, 8D, and SPC techniques.
• Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for quality improvement.
• Develop and validate CAPA actions to prevent defects and improve reliability.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Supplier Engineering on launches and changes.
• Prepare technical reports and quality performance metrics.
• Support Lean and Six Sigma initiatives and cross-functional teams.
