Job summary
Daimler Truck North America in Detroit, MI is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer II to support the transmission assembly line on day shift. You will develop, implement, and maintain quality systems, apply statistical methods, and drive process improvements in collaboration with manufacturing teams.
You will lead root-cause investigations, design inspection plans, conduct FMEA and SPC analysis, and develop CAPA to reduce defects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- 2–4 years of related quality/manufacturing experience.
- Experience applying engineering principles, statistics, and quality management in manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems for transmission assembly operations.
- Apply statistical methodologies to analyze processes and improve capability.
- Design and optimize inspection/validation plans to meet specs and quality requirements.
- Lead root cause investigations using FMEA, 8D, and other quality tools.
- Develop CAPA actions to eliminate defects and improve reliability.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Supplier Engineering on launches and changes.
