Job summary

Daybreak Independent Services, Inc. is seeking a QA Specialist to support the agency's Quality Assurance and Compliance Program in Bronx, NY.

The role focuses on audits, documentation reviews, and ensuring adherence to federal, state, local, and agency regulations. The position reports to the Quality Assurance Coordinator and requires strong attention to detail, collaboration with program leadership, and flexibility to handle additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in social work or 1 year in human services preferred.
• OPWDD experience preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to cooperate with colleagues at all levels.
• Capable of meeting deadlines and working under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Track monthly document submissions, perform quality checks, and prepare quality reports.
• Review external document submissions from care managers and generate quality check reports.
• Document findings and obtain QA supervisor approval before corrections.
• Assist with filing documents in binder or EVERO database.
• Create and update charts for new and existing individuals' records.
• Perform quality checks on daily transportation attendance and report discrepancies.
• Assist QA team with third‑party document retrieval and audits.
• Support billing audits and HIPAA/OPWDD/OMIG regulatory activities.
• Communicate findings to the team and coordinate with supervisors.
