Job summary

IonQ, Inc. seeks a QPU Production Test Development Manager to lead engineers and technicians responsible for validating new QPU designs and verifying that manufactured QPUs meet performance criteria.

You will own the test strategy, laboratory readiness, and execution of test campaigns across sites with design, science, engineering, and manufacturing teams. The role sits in Device Operations as IonQ scales QPU production, defining what a good test looks like and ensuring partners follow that

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Significant experience testing complex hardware or experimental systems.
• Experience leading engineers or technical laboratory teams.
• Experience developing test automation, preferably using Python.
• Ability to work across hardware, software, science and manufacturing and communicate technical conclusions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead test roadmap, priorities, and lab readiness across sites.
• Own QPU test strategy from design validation through manufacturing verification.
• Coordinate parallel test campaigns and manage resources across labs.
• Develop automated workflows and ensure data quality and traceability.
• Guide root cause analysis and present results to design and manufacturing teams.
