Schuff Steel is seeking a QC Technician to inspect 3D scan data of steel assemblies, identify dimensional discrepancies, and document findings in technical reports. You will compare scans to drawings and specifications, determine tolerance conformance, and compile clear reports while maintaining thorough records.

The role requires understanding shop drawings, contract specs (ASTM, AWS, AISC, CBC) and strong attention to detail to ensure defect-free final work; safety is paramount.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED; substitution possible with relevant training.
• At least three years of related experience; a Bachelor's degree can substitute for up to three years.
• Proficiency with the listed software and tools including MS Office and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Review, process and interpret 3D scan data of fabricated steel assemblies.
• Compare scan results against drawings, models, specifications and tolerances.
• Identify and document dimensional discrepancies and nonconformances.
• Determine whether observed deviations meet specified tolerances.
• Compile inspection findings into clear PDF reports and ensure accuracy.
