Job summary

Qualifications

• High School graduate diploma or a GED certificate.
• Certification in GD&T required and/or 3 years of basic GD&T inspection experience.
• Five years minimum experience as a QC inspector.
• Certifications in ASQ topics or engineering degree a plus.
• Quality assurance related certificates a plus.
• Strong blueprint reading and understanding of specs and contractual requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to perform basic math and use basic tools.
• Detail-oriented and capable of teamwork.
• Familiarity with SAP a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent inspections and verifications of internal/external components to MEC requirements, drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Conduct visual inspection of mechanical assemblies, soldering, and paint finishes per engineering requirements.
• Review NDT and supplier documentation per MEC Purchase Orders.
• Generate inspection reports per MEC policy.
• Identify non-conforming material and initiate Quality Notifications as required.
• Perform first piece validations supporting manufacturing areas.
• Observe and validate fastener applications (torque, rivets, sealants).
• Support receiving and in-process inspection activities.
• May perform higher-level inspections under supervision; possible 3D model aided inspection.
