Job summary

The Marvin Group is seeking a Quality Control Inspector in Inglewood to perform thorough inspections utilizing basic GD&T knowledge and SAP reporting. You will validate components, generate reports, and ensure compliance with MEC requirements and contracts.

Responsibilities include first-piece validation, fastener torque verification, and coordination with suppliers and internal teams. Strong math, blueprint reading, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School graduate diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
• Certification in GD&T required and/or 3 years of basic GD&T inspection experience.
• Five years minimum experience as a QC inspector.
• Certifications in ASQ topics or college degree in Engineering or other technical fields a plus.
• Certificates of Completion in Quality Assurance courses a plus (e.g., CSUDH Quality courses).
• Above average understanding of hardware blueprint reading and tolerances; knowledge of specs and contractual requirements.
• Excellent communications skills – both written and verbal.
• Able to perform basic math skills.
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated; team player.
• Able to perform basic computer tasks and have proficient typing skills.
• Familiarity with SAP a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to lift a minimum 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent inspections, validations, and verifications of components to ensure compliance with MEC processes and contracts.
• Inspect products using hand tools and basic GD&T interpretation.
• Review NDT and supplier documentation per MEC Purchase Order.
• Generate inspection reports per MEC policy.
• Identify and segregate suspect non-conforming material and create QN reports.
• Perform first piece validations in support of manufacturing areas.
• Witness and validate fastener applications (torque, rivets, sealants).
• Support all QC areas including receiving and in-process inspections.
• May perform higher level inspections under supervision; may use 3D model aided inspection.
• Interface with suppliers and internal customers.
• May perform Source Inspections at supplier facilities.
