Job summary

JBS Foods is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor in Omaha, NE. You will supervise QA Technicians and collaborate with Operations to ensure compliance with HACCP, GMPs, and food safety standards while interfacing with USDA regulators. Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential.

The role requires coordinating sanitation activities, managing attendance, and driving continuous improvement across QA processes. Occasional travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years meat/food industry experience.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Previous supervisory/leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with Operations team to ensure all programs are being followed.
• Coordinate and supervise pre-operation sanitation, examining and verifying cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and facilities daily.
• Act as a liaison between the company and the USDA to ensure operations stay within regulatory guidelines.
• Train and monitor employees for adherence to SOPs, SSOPs and GMPs.
• Maintain acceptable yield levels on all products both carcasses.
• Perform daily safety walks and correct any non-compliance issues.
• Keep track of QA Technicians hours, vacations, and time off.
• Supervise a team of QA Technicians and foster growth and development by directing, motivating and monitoring all activities.
• Contributes to ongoing development of JBS policies and procedures.
• Coordinate efforts of other facility departments to optimize company performance.
• Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position

Essential Job Functions:

• Work with Operations team to ensure all programs are being followed

• Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position

Experience Required:

• Minimum 1-2 years Meat/Food Industry experience


• High School Diploma or GED equivalent, preferred but not required


• Previous supervisory/leadership experience

Skills/Abilities Required:

• Proven written and verbal communication skills, problem solving and leadership qualities.


• Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs and Food Safety


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office


• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships and work collaboratively with employees at all levels of the organization


• Must be able to multitask


• Knowledge of Net/Tare weights and micro sampling


• Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed


• Must understand product AQL and SSOP and record reviewing


• Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time
