Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise daily sanitation and verify cleanliness.
• Act as liaison with the USDA to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Train and monitor staff on SOPs, SSOPs and GMPs.
• Maintain acceptable yield levels on products and carcasses.
• Perform daily safety walks and correct non-compliance issues.
• Track QA Technicians hours, vacations, and time off.
• Supervise QA Technicians and develop the team.
• Contribute to the development of JBS policies and procedures.
• Coordinate cross‑department efforts to meet guidelines.

Job Title: Quality Assurance Supervisor

Location: Omaha, NE

Reporting to: Quality Assurance Superintendent

Essential Job Functions:

• Work with Operations team to ensure all programs are being followed
• Coordinate and supervise pre-operation sanitation, examining and verifying the cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and facilities daily
• Act as a liaison between the company and the USDA to ensure that the company maintains operations within regulatory guidelines
• Train and monitor employees for adherence to company SOPs, SSOPs and GMPs
• Maintain acceptable yield levels on all products both carcasses
• Perform daily safety walks and correct any non-compliance issues
• Keep track of QA Technicians hours, vacations, and time off
• Supervise a team of QA Technicians and foster the continuous growth and development of all QA Technicians by directing, motivating and monitoring all activities
• Contributes to the ongoing development of JBS policies and procedures
• Coordinate the efforts of other facility departments to optimize the company performance by meeting the company's guidelines and management expectations
• Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position

Experience Required:

• Minimum 1-2 years Meat/Food Industry experience
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent, preferred but not required
• Previous supervisory/leadership experience

Skills/Abilities Required:

• Proven written and verbal communication skills, problem solving and leadership qualities.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs and Food Safety
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships and work collaboratively with employees at all levels of the organization
• Must be able to multitask
• Knowledge of Net/Tare weights and micro sampling
• Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
• Must understand product AQL and SSOP and record reviewing
• Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time
