Job summary

Big-D Heavy Industrial is seeking a dynamic Quality Control Manager to lead the QA/QC program for construction and industrial projects headquartered in Tempe, AZ. The role requires managing quality personnel, ensuring contract compliance, and driving continuous improvement across all project disciplines.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in QA/QC within industrial or heavy civil construction, with supervisory experience and certifications such as AWS CWI or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of QA/QC experience in industrial, mining, energy, manufacturing, or heavy civil construction.
• 3–5 years in a supervisory or management role.
• AWS CWI preferred or required depending on project scope.
• NACE CIP, ACI, API, or ASNT certifications preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the overall QA/QC program for construction and industrial projects.
• Provide leadership for quality personnel and ensure contract compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement across all project disciplines.
• Oversee inspections across civil, structural, mechanical, piping, welding, and equipment installation.
• Review inspection records and quality documentation; coordinate client audits.
• Lead root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Manage NCRs, CARs, material certifications, WPS/PQR/WPQ records, and turnover packages.
• Serve as primary quality representative with clients and regulatory agencies.
• Lead quality meetings, readiness reviews, and support project startup and closeout activities.
