Job summary

OpenMined is seeking an experienced QA Lead to embed with engineering teams, shaping testing strategy and building the quality function from the ground up. You will write tests, design testability into architectures, and advance tooling to ensure reliable software across a multi-language stack.

You will define quality standards, participate in code reviews, and drive production-readiness across squads. This is a fully remote, mission-driven role with global collaboration and open-source impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Python proficiency required; TypeScript and Go strongly preferred.
• Experience integrating testing into CI/CD and production-readiness criteria.
• Ability to read a codebase and design testing strategies.

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery of engineering’s quarterly goals, ensuring high-impact delivery.
• Access current test coverage and production readiness within each product codebase to guide a testing roadmap.
• Establish testing patterns for a multi-language stack and frameworks that simplify testing.
• Socialize quality policies and minimum gates with product teams.
• Pair on test design for complex features and review PRs for test quality.
• Lead CI/CD quality gates and contribute to tooling and automation.
