Job summary

OSI Group in Tipton, Indiana seeks a supervisor to ensure safe production and strict HACCP/food-safety compliance across products. You will lead a team, manage records, and coordinate with QA leaders to uphold quality standards.

You will train staff on GMP/SSOP, interact with USDA inspectors, and drive continuous improvement while managing shifts, performance, and recalls when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in food science, or related field, or equivalent food industry experience.
• 2+ years of related experience preferred.
• Supervisory and technical skills preferred.
• Experience with HACCP/FOOD Safety programs and GMPs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain HACCP program including records, logs, trend reporting, and validation testing schedules.
• Maintain and oversee all HACCP/FOOD Safety record keeping.
• Conduct annual HACCP validations, reassessments, and initial validations for new products.
• Conduct HACCP and GMP/SSOP training for the HACCP team.
• Interact with USDA inspector on HACCP / SSOP related issues and relay follow ups to QA Leader.
• Perform Pre-shipment review of all CCP documentation.
• Oversee scheduling, performance, hiring, coaching, training and development of subordinates.
• Facilitate transitions between shifts and communicate key information to peers and Production Management.
• Maintain safe work environment and ensure training on procedures; apply corrective action when required.
• Monitor plant operations for GMPs, sanitation audits, HACCP checks and product quality checks.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend changes.
• Prepare routine reports documenting testing activities and quality issues.
• Administer product recall program and disposition of returned products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
