Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to develop test plans and ensure the quality of Java-based web applications in a regulated federal setting. You will perform functional and regression testing, validate cybersecurity and accessibility compliance, and verify server, database, and BI interfaces.

The role requires hands-on API testing, UI automation development, and seamless defect coordination within Windows Server environments.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications.
• Proficiency with defect tracking systems.
• Knowledge of federal cybersecurity requirements and government accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG).
• Experience testing Apache Tomcat application servers, Oracle 19c databases, and SAP BI interfaces.
• Familiarity with Windows Server environments.
• API testing experience (Apache Solr, RESTful services).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab.
• Excellent analytical skills and meticulous documentation practices.
• Strong collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for system upgrades and new features.
• Perform functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications.
• Execute manual testing methodologies for complex scenarios.
• Validate compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements.
• Ensure adherence to government accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG).
• Test enterprise applications in Windows Server environments.
• Verify security controls and data protection measures.
• Develop and maintain UI automation frameworks for regression testing.
• Perform API testing for backend services (Apache Solr, RESTful services).
• Integrate automated tests into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage defect tracking systems and coordinate issue resolution.
• Test Apache Tomcat application server deployments and configurations.
• Test Oracle 19c database integrations and data flows.
• Test SAP BI reporting interfaces and outputs.
