Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer with strong UI testing expertise to ensure quality and compliance during the modernization of a critical government information system.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications, focusing on user interface validation, accessibility compliance, and cross-browser compatibility testing.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications.
Strong UI testing expertise including user interface validation and cross-browser compatibility.
Proficiency with defect tracking systems.
Knowledge of federal cybersecurity requirements and government accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG).
Experience testing Apache Tomcat application servers, Oracle 19c databases, and SAP Business Intelligence interfaces.
Familiarity with Windows Server environments.
API testing experience (Apache Solr, RESTful services).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab.
Excellent analytical skills and meticulous documentation practices.
Strong collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for system upgrades and new features.
Perform functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications.
Conduct user interface validation and cross-browser compatibility testing.
Execute manual testing methodologies for complex scenarios.
Validate compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements.
Ensure adherence to government accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG).
Test enterprise applications in Windows Server environments.
Verify security controls and data protection measures.
Develop and maintain UI automation frameworks for regression testing.
Perform API testing for backend services (Apache Solr, RESTful services).
Integrate automated tests into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
Manage defect tracking systems and coordinate issue resolution.
Test Apache Tomcat application server deployments and configurations.
Test Oracle 19c database integrations and data flows.
Test SAP Business Intelligence reporting interfaces and outputs.
