Job summary

Nidec Corporation in North Mankato, MN, is seeking a Quality Engineer to support quality activities by setting testing models for raw materials, in-process items, and finished products. The role emphasizes 6S, LEAN, supplier development, and prompt problem resolution.

You will lead internal audits, develop QC plans, and collaborate with calibration and ERP teams to improve performance and customer satisfaction across manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years in manufacturing, preferably electrical generation or related field.
• Strong leadership and process management skills.
• Proven ability to develop employees and solve problems.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• US citizenship required for North Mankato facility.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and lead 6S events and LEAN Enterprise activities.
• Develop suppliers to meet quality requirements and qualify new suppliers.
• Support customer complaints with expedient problem resolution and failure analysis.
• Guide inspection staff through disposition of non-conforming material and GD&T.
• Develop Quality Control Plans and PPAPs for new products and implement lean strategies.
• Perform ISO9000 self-audit activities and support external audits.
• Collaborate with calibration staff to resolve issues and reduce costs.
• Lead factory improvement projects to reduce cost and improve quality.
• Write and revise operating procedures to align with new practices and certifications.
• Deliver innovations in quality systems compatible with ERP.
• Assist QA Manager with quality performance metrics and reporting.
• Adhere to the 3Q6s principles and occasional travel up to 5%.
