Job summary

Hunter Industries in California is seeking a Software Automation Test Engineer to ensure reliability and performance of smart irrigation controller systems. You will join the QA team to develop automated test frameworks, scripts, and UI tools to validate releases meet quality and usability standards.

The role collaborates with product and firmware engineers to design comprehensive test plans, report defects, and drive continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum two years' experience with firmware and real‑time systems.
• Experience testing real‑time firmware-based products.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and maintains automated test frameworks and scripts.
• Creates and executes test plans for functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Collaborates with product owners and engineers to ensure full test coverage.
• Documents defects and tracks them to timely resolution.
• Analyzes results and reports quality metrics to drive improvements.
