Job summary

Rently is seeking a Product Quality Engineer to join our QA team in California. You’ll test and validate in‑house and third‑party hardware and software, ensuring reliability and performance across our IoT ecosystem.

You will develop automated tests in Python/Robot Framework, work with hardware and software teams, and support certification efforts for smart home devices. Base salary is competitive in California's market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
• Experience with Python and Robot Framework.
• Experience with smart devices in Linux OS environment.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong multitasking, teamwork, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Execute and maintain test plans for smart home devices and software.
• Ensure quality via IQC inspections and QA best practices.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to align QC with processes.
• Validate new designs and support certification testing.
• Analyze and troubleshoot issues; document defects end-to-end.
• Log and debug devices using wireless protocols (Z‑Wave, Matter, LTE, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth).
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts to improve coverage.
