Job summary

Novara is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to expand automated test coverage for Novara Flex, an EHS and compliance platform. You will design, build, and maintain automated API and end-to-end tests within a Playwright/TypeScript framework, integrating tests into GitHub Actions and CI/CD quality gates.

The role emphasizes risk-based testing, test flakiness resolution, and data validation during a MongoDB to PostgreSQL migration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional QA experience with test automation ownership.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright or Cypress/Selenium and Playwright knowledge.
• Strong API testing skills including REST, auth flows, payload/schema validation, status codes.
• Experience running automated tests in CI/CD with headless, parallel runs, artifacts, reporting.
• Solid test-case management in a tool like Xray or ADO; clear defect documentation.
• SQL proficiency for data validation and troubleshooting.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated API and end-to-end tests in Playwright/TS.
• Apply risk-based testing to determine automation scope and justify coverage.
• Integrate tests into GitHub Actions and maintain quality gates across environments.
• Investigate test failures, fix flakiness, and address root causes.
• Validate data via SQL during migrations (MongoDB to PostgreSQL).
• Own performance and load testing with baselines for high-traffic endpoints.
• Document test results, defects, and traceability in the test system (Xray).
• Participate in refinement, estimation, and sprint ceremonies to surface testability gaps.
• Collaborate with developers on testability and shift-left quality practices.
• Contribute to framework improvements and test data strategy.
