Job summary

Recess Hotel & Club is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to oversee procurement, receiving, and inventory control for our Savannah property. You will lead daily purchasing activities, manage storeroom operations, and build strong vendor relationships to meet budget and quality goals.

You will supervise a team, ensure accurate records, and provide management with reports and analytics. This role requires hospitality experience, strong organization, and a proactive, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in purchasing, receiving, warehouse, storeroom, inventory control, or procurement, preferably in a hospitality environment.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to accurately count, track, analyze, and document inventory.
• Comfortable using inventory management systems, spreadsheets, and basic computer programs.
• Knowledge of purchasing practices, vendor management, and cost-control principles.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable with a strong sense of accountability and consistent attendance.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily purchasing, receiving, and storeroom operations.
• Receive, inspect, and verify deliveries to ensure quality standards and purchase specifications are met.
• Source and procure food, beverage, and operating supplies while maintaining cost and quality standards.
• Organize, label, and maintain inventory in designated storage areas.
• Monitor inventory levels, conduct cycle counts, and participate in monthly inventory audits.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, receiving, and inventory records.
• Review invoices, packing slips, and delivery documentation for accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies involving damaged, missing, or incorrect shipments.
• Collaborate with department leaders to forecast inventory needs and support operational demands.
• Ensure storeroom and receiving areas remain clean, organized, secure, and compliant with safety standards.
• Prepare purchasing, inventory, and cost-control reports for management.
• Train team members on receiving, inventory, and storeroom procedures.
• Support special projects and other operational needs as assigned.
