VoidForm Fort Worth, Texas is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to coordinate and forecast raw material purchases in an in-person role. You will work closely with Operations, Production and Logistics managers to meet department needs and execute purchases accordingly.

The position involves reviewing receipts in Acumatica, managing inventory, issuing purchase orders, negotiating with vendors, and coordinating shipping and forecasting material requirements across multiple products.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years proven experience in purchasing and sourcing (Manufacturing Industry Preferred).
  • 4-year College Degree (Business, Accounting or Supply Chain Management) preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, ability to learn Access and VF Pro programs used at VoidForm.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and releases Purchase Receipts within Acumatica.
  • Manages inventory of office supplies and orders additional stock or new items as necessary.
  • Compiles weekly inventories and open order reports; issues purchase orders.
  • Assists in greeting visitors and directing to appropriate party; assists in answering inbound calls and directing to appropriate party.
  • Responsible for scheduling outside carriers for shipment pickups and completing shipping information for transfers and orders.
  • Rectifies and closes open purchase orders at month end.
  • Monitors inventory levels and assists in forecasting material needs by reviewing historical, current, and upcoming demand.
  • Tracks orders to forecast purchasing requirements for various VoidForm products.
  • Audits service contracts and negotiates terms.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge on VoidForm products and raw materials.
  • Develops relationships with vendors and representatives.
  • Monitors for changes, resolves issues like lead times and low inventory with vendors.
  • Facilitates transfers between locations and monitors product requirements across locations.
  • Sources and screens potential new vendors via price comparisons; presents findings for review.
  • Investigates price discrepancies and resolves quality/service issues timely.
  • Provides freight quotes for LTL and truckloads.
  • Answers and redirects incoming calls to appropriate department.
  • Uses volume/weight calculator to establish pallet counts, weights, and classes.

SUMMARY:

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for coordinating and forecasting raw material purchases. This is a highly collaborative role that works closely with the Operations Managers, Productions Managers and Logistics Managers to understand department needs and execute purchases accordingly. The Purchasing Specialist may also provide additional support to management during department audits or as needed.

The Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the office setting operations. This encompasses the tasks of providing office support and management at the front of the house and internally with company personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs the following responsibilities in accordance with VoidForm policies and procedures, work rules, expectations, and behavior standards:

  • Reviews and releases Purchase Receipts within Acumatica.
  • Manages inventory of office supplies and orders additional stock or new items as necessary.
  • Compiles weekly inventories and open order reports; issues purchase orders.
  • Assists in greeting visitors and directing to appropriate party; assists in answering inbound calls and directing to appropriate party.
  • Responsible for scheduling outside carriers for shipment pickups, this includes shipping orders, purchase orders, and other types of shipments; completes necessary shipping information for shipping transfers, outside carriers, and shipping orders.
  • Responsible for rectifying and closing open purchase orders at the end of every month.
  • Responsible for monitoring inventory levels and assists in forecasting material needs by reviewing historical, current, and upcoming demand.
  • Assists in tracking orders to forecast purchasing requirements for SureRetainer, Backfill Retainer, Vapor Barrier, StormVoid, and other VoidForm products.
  • Audits systems to discover expiring service contracts; responsible for reviewing and negotiating service terms related to contracts.
  • Develops and maintains accurate knowledge on various VoidForm products, and the raw materials needed to produce finished goods.
  • Develops relationships with vendors and representatives.
  • Monitors systems for any sudden changes or complications, resolves issues such as extended lead times and low inventory; works with vendors to establish resolutions.
  • Facilitates transfers between locations and monitors product requirements across various locations.
  • Sources and screens potential new vendors for services or goods by conducting price comparisons; presents finding for review and approval.
  • Investigates any price discrepancies with vendors and resolves quality and service issues timely.
  • Provides freight quotes for less-than-truck loads and truckloads
  • Responsible for answering and redirecting incoming calls to the appropriate department.
  • Utilizes the volume and weight calculator to establish pallet counts, weights, and classes; uses information to determine shipping rates.

Requirements:

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Training, and Experience Required)

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required: 2-3 years proven experience in purchasing and sourcing (Manufacturing Industry Preferred).
  • Preferred: 4-year College Degree (Business, Accounting or Supply Chain Management).
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, as well as the ability to learn the Access and VF Pro programs used at VoidForm.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Purchasing and sourcing experience, preferably in a mid to large-size organization
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to create formulas, export and organize data, create tables and pivot tables within Excel.
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess strong mathematical, accounting, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems as they arise.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong professional and social skills.
