Job summary

Cherokee Town & Country Club in Sandy Springs, GA is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee receiving, inventory, and procurement to support culinary and club operations. The role emphasizes cost savings, accuracy, and leadership within the Purchasing team.

This full-time position requires strong knowledge of food products, meats, seafood, and purchasing procedures, with the ability to travel between club locations if needed.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of food products, including proteins, seafood, produce, dairy and dry goods.
• Strong knowledge of meat and poultry, including grades, cuts, yields and quality characteristics.
• Knowledge of seafood species, freshness indicators, seasonality and product specs.
• Proficient in purchasing procedures, inventory control, and receiving operations.
• Experience with inventory management and purchase order systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the receiving and issuing of product deliveries throughout the Club.
• Inspect incoming products for quality and accuracy.
• Review invoices against purchase orders and identify shortages, discrepancies, or variances.
• Manage requisitions and communicate out-of-stock items or shortages to appropriate departments.
• Maintain FIFO stock rotation, storeroom organization, cleanliness, and security.
• Assist with and perform end-of-month inventory.
• Manage ordering, tracking, inventory, and control of rental uniforms.
• Utilize inventory management and purchase order systems to support daily operations.
• Order food and beverage products as needed based on established purchasing requirements.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
• Support the Purchasing Director and oversee department operations when needed.
